Social Entertainment - What Does It Mean?

Written by Aleesha Jassi | Jun 20, 2024 9:17:44 AM
Let's cut through the jargon to break down what's changing in the industry around us, and how our products can help you.

Social Entertainment is a broad term that encompasses a wide range of activities and media designed for enjoyment and interaction among groups of people. It includes any form of entertainment where the social aspect is a key component. The primary goal is to foster social interaction, engagement, and community building.

Competitive Socialising is a specific subset of social entertainment that combines social interaction with competitive activities. The primary focus here is on games and activities where participants compete against each other in a social setting. The competitive element is a significant aspect, adding excitement and engagement to the social experience!

This is where we come in...

There are many different competitive socialising activities out there. In fact, the number of these activities has grown from fewer than 1,000 in 2014 to over 16,000 globally in 2024. Think axe throwing, mini-golf, escape rooms...and of course, darts.

Why Darts?

Darts is a low footprint, low set-up, high ROI attraction that keeps people on their feet. When people are on their feet, they drink more. When people are having a good time, they are inclined to spend more on food too. Our best venues anticipate customers' needs and use effective marketing to pre-sell packages on arrival, offering high-quality bite-sized food and craft cocktails that are hard to resist.

Digital darts, electronic darts, interactive darts, AR darts...what do they all mean?

The two products we sell are Interactive Darts and Augmented Reality Darts.

Our Interactive Darts system delivers instant automated scoring and rich video game graphics presented straight onto a big screen TV.

Our Augmented Reality Darts is the world's first and only auto-scoring darts system that projects all targets and scores directly onto the board.

Both use a real dartboard and real steel-tipped darts, but with automated scoring and high-quality graphics and games; taking the traditional sport to the next level without compromising on its authenticity.

We develop all our games in-house and make data-driven decisions based on usage, uptake, and direct feedback from our customers. We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate and enhance our products to better serve our customers.

Our customers are not bound to these names and can rebrand the concept to fit with their venue look and feel, ensuring a seamless addition to their brand. Some may refer to our Interactive Darts system as digital darts or electronic darts, and they may refer to our dartboard as an 'electronic dartboard' or 'digital dartboard'. Similarly, augmented reality darts may be shortened to AR darts.

It is worth noting that whilst there are other 'Interactive Darts' providers on the market, we pride ourselves on having the more accurate auto-scoring technology on the market, harnessing the revolutionary SmartboardĀ® technology from our partners at Unicorn.

We are the only provider of Augmented Reality Darts, having developed the concept ourselves with our in-house team of experts, developers, and inventors.
