The challenge:

501 Fun was contacted by a premier multi-activity entertainment venue in California, US, seeking to increase revenue with a new cutting-edge competitive socialising experience to complement the already offered mini-golf and bowling activities. Their goal was to increase dwell time and maximise profitability by encouraging guests to partake in multiple activities in addition to spending more money on food and beverage.

How we helped:

Having conducted a video assessment with the customer, our team were able to advise on how to re-imagine the space to create a guest journey that worked better and set the venue up for success. Our team advised purchasing three Augmented Reality Darts lanes to transform a previously under-utilised corner of the venue into an eye-catching and exciting Darts installation with custom branding and a 'push for service' button installed at each oche.

We demonstrated how to utilise features like dynamic slideshows to promote unmissable offers and drive usage and food & beverage sales when the lanes are not in use, and how to upload a food & beverage menu to the touchscreen console; streamlining the ordering process for guests and maximising spend by allowing them to order directly from their oche.


Result:

Within 19 weeks, the venue had achieved full payback on the capital cost of the equipment from lane fees alone, and were benefitting from an increase in dwell time and the subsequent substantial uplift in F&B spend. The darts lanes generated over 210 combined hours of customer engagement/dwell time in their first month, increasing by a further 28% in the following 3 months. On average, each guest bought 3 beverages, and at least 1 small plate, which worked out to $38 per person spent on F&B. The addition of 501 Fun's cutting-edge social entertainment technology was the optimal solution to supercharge their venue and create a new and successful revenue stream.
